President Pat M (2016-2018)
I love Garden City and I love gardening so getting in involved with the Garden City Garden Club was a great way to give back to the community and enjoy my hobby. I have always been interested in gardening since I was a little girl, planting a vegetable garden in my parents backyard. My goal as president of the garden club is to continue the Garden Club’s good work in the community, such as the Butterfly Garden in City Park, support of the Community Garden, and beautification projects such as the Fire Department landscaping and the flower planting at the Commons. I also am a very big proponent of education. I hope that long time gardeners as well as novices can come to our meetings and learn about plants, landscaping and all aspects of gardening. I have also made some wonderful friends through my involvement with the club. I want our club to be a place to learn, to share, and to have fun. I encourage everyone to join us at our monthly meetings, held on the third Tuesday of every month at 7 pm..

Former President-Stacy (2014-2016)
I first became interested in gardening in the early 1990's while I owned a landscaping
company in Chicago. After moving back to Mi in 1999 I became a master gardener, then in 2010 an advanced master gardener. My yard is full with over 600 perennials that bloom throughout the spring, summer and fall. In 2011 I joined the garden club to ask for their help in starting Gardenville, GC's community garden that grows vegetables for local food banks. I enjoy sharing my gardening knowledge and helping others design their own gardens. I look forward to helping GCGC move forward by increasing the membership and raising more funds to help local causes.
Stacy
FORMER PRESIDENT- DELLA (2010-2012)
When we moved to Garden City in 1956 I started planting flowers in my yard. My husband, Bill encouraged me to “keep planting until I get it out of my system”. Well, more than 50 years later and ever changing flower beds later, I am still gardening. I have always said that through gardening, my four children survived!
When I joined the Garden City Garden Club in 1958, a web site was certainly unheard of and now it seems to make the world go around. Even though the world is changing around us, the love of gardening has not.
Over the past 52 years I have held just about every office within our Garden Club, including President (1993-1997 and 2001-2003) and the Vice Presidency several times. My home has also been featured on our annual Garden Walk on a few occasions. I completed Flower Show School and became an Accredited Judge in 2002 and am currently awaiting Life Judge Status.
We have an exciting year planned with great guest speakers, nature crafts and field trips (Hidden Lake Gardens & a visit to a Fall Gourd Festival just to name a few). Our Garden City Garden Club is also joining neighboring garden clubs; Garden Club of Dearborn, Dearborn Heights and Military Hills to host a flower show. So please mark your calendars on September 10th and 11th 2010 for “CELEBRATING WITH FLOWERS” at the Brady Street Presbyterian Church (free admission).
If you stop along the way to smell a rose or stop to enjoy the beauty of a daisy….we invite you to join us for there’s a place for you in our Garden Club. We meet on the 3rd Tuesday of the month at the Maplewood Center at 6:30pm-9pm.

FORMER PRESIDENT- DOTTIE (2008-2010)
As president of the Garden City Garden Club, my mission is to enlighten and encourage all members and our community , to the delightful experience of gardening. I have enjoyed gardening in my back yard for years, and also volunteer at the Butterfly Garden, at City Park, as a meaningful and something I was "meant" to do! I have enjoyed the fellowship of like minded people who have a passion for gardening and learning all aspects of horticulture and the "Green" Ecological Way (local farm produce--such as our (Farmers Market), for the sustainable future of all citizens on Planet Earth. I am encouraged to promote Michigan Garden Club, Inc., ideals, and National Garden Club's "Why Youth Gardens?" To motivate and inspire ideas for projects that would encourage and teach our youth, and to partner with our community and their schools in gardening projects. This past year, I have given advice and supported our local high school teacher, Yvonne Coogan, in the placement of a Native Flower and Plant Garden at Garden City High School.
